How are these estimates calculated?

No organization currently maintains a complete worldwide registry of hearing-loop installations or annual users. Published industry sources describe hearing loops as installed in millions of locations worldwide. HearFinder therefore uses 2M+ as a conservative installation estimate.

WHO estimates that more than 400 million people could benefit from hearing aids and that roughly 17% currently use them. HLAA reports that about 70% of hearing aids include a telecoil. Using these figures as reference points, together with a deliberately conservative assumption about annual use of loop-equipped public spaces, HearFinder estimates that at least ~10 million people may benefit from hearing loops in a typical year.

These figures are directional estimates intended to illustrate scale, not an official global census.
